◇展覧会概要

　ギャラリー同潤会では、5月28日（水）から6月2日（月）まで、Okiel de May個展
　「愛すべきかけらたち　絵と詩」を開催いたします。初めての個展となる本展では、
　2012年から2014年にかけて制作されたイラスト作品のなかから、生花、ガラス、
　毛糸、砂糖、塩、お米といった素材を使った代表作10点とペインティング3点に
　詩をのせた作品を展示いたします。
　また来廊者参加型の作品制作”Cycle of the beginning”も行います。
　みなさまのご来場、心よりお待ちしております。

　Gallery Dojunkai is pleased to present “Lovable pieces, with illustrations and　words”,
　a solo exhibition by Okiel de May, illustrations from May28th to June 2nd, 2014.
　This exhibition, Okiel de May’s first, will include ten of her own most distinguished
　illustrations and creations from glass, flowers and other media. It will also exhibit
　three paintings including poetry created between 2012 and 2014. She will also hold
　an in-exhibition event called “Cycle of the beginning” creating works with guests
　live.


◇プロフィール

　大学卒業後、医療福祉系NPO法人、心理セラピストとして活動したのち、
かねてから強い関心を寄せていた哲学を学ぶため再び学生生活を過ごす。
哲学、宗教、芸術、考古学、生物など分野を超えた世界にふれてゆくなかで、
森羅万象への敬意、生命の内的な世界、その神秘さに思いを強くし、自らも
こうした感覚世界の表現に関わる活動をしてゆきたいと思うようになる。
その方向性は、以前から学んでいたガラス工芸やフラワーアレンジメント
と結びつき、ガラス、生花、食材、毛糸そして言葉を用いたイラストを
制作することにつながる。こうして色彩、生き生きしたもの、言葉をキーワードに
2013年より、Okiel de Mayとしてフラワーアレンジメント、イラストの
制作販売をはじめ、活動している。

Okiel de May received a degree in law in 2000. She then started working at a　nonprofit organization　for nursing care and welfare services. She was also working as a freelancer giving psychological counseling and therapy.
In the following years, she went back to university and pursued a degree in philosophy.
In the process of accomplishing this degree, She engaged in a variety of side disciplines through courses like religion, art, archaeology, and biology where she started experiencing thoughts that made her wonder about the inner meaning of life and of the respect and appreciation of nature.
Through these experiences, her passion was born. Her thoughts did not remain to be just mere experiences but became a world worth creating, thus became Okiel de May. These passions manifested through her glass artwork and flower arranging. After came her illustrations mixed with glass, fresh flowers, sugar, salt, rice, and other media in 2013.
