◇展覧会概要

インク独特の美しい色合いで、夢の中のような世界のイラストレーションを表現しました。星、砂漠、大地、遊牧民といったエレメントを、人物と共に描きます。アントワーヌ・ド・サン＝テグジュペリの『人間の土地』や『星の王子様』を元に、本の世界からインスパイアされて浮かんできたイメージを、ヴィジュアル化しました。

I made bright colored illustrations using India inks with combined elements such as stars, desert, the earth, and Nomad. Those visuals were created based on inspirations that I've got from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's books "Wind, Sand, and Stars" and "The Little Prince."


◇　加藤あきこ　プロフィール

金沢市生まれ。NY在住。
パーソンズ・スクール・オブ・デザインのイラストレーション科を卒業。
以後、NYのアパレル会社でテキスタイル・デザイナーとして働く。
2008年より、イラストレーション制作を中心とした活動を開始。
NYの文芸誌 "The New Yorker" に、イラストを描いている。

Akiko Kato was born in Kanazawa-city Japan, and currently lives in New York.
She graduated from Parsons School of Design with BFA in illustration major.
Having worked as a textile designer in apparel companies in NY.
She started to focus on making her own artwork in 2008.
Her illustration appears in The New Yorker magazine in US.
